Dr. Arlan Cage, ND, LAc operates his clinic, South Bay Total Health in Torrance CA, where he specializes in Endocrinology, Gynecology, Fertility, Weight loss, and other chronic illnesses. He is active in promoting the benefits of holistic alternative medicine, and has served on the Board of Directors for the California Naturopathic Doctors Association (CNDA) since 2007. The CNDA is the the professional association for licensed Naturopathic Doctors in California. Beginning in the spring of 2008, Dr. Cage was elected as the President of the CNDA, and will lead the organization in its efforts to promote the growth of Naturopathic Medicine in the State of California, establish and maintain standards of professional conduct among licensed Naturopathic doctors, and to provide a resource of expertise in Natural medicine for State agencies and the citizens of California.

Dr. Cage graduated from Whitman College in 1983 with a bachelors degree in Physics and Astronomy, and from Florida Institute of Technology in 1985 with a Masters degree in Space Technology. He worked for 16 years in the aerospace industry supporting a variety of rocket and satellite programs including the Space Shuttle, specializing in rocket propulsion systems and attitude control & guidance systems of un-manned satellites.

In time, a growing interest in natural health prompted him to pursue a career in alternative medicine. In 2002 he earned his Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ. Southwest College is one of only 5, accredited, Naturopathic Medical schools in the United States whose graduates are eligible for licensure in those states which regulate Naturopathic medicine. While at Southwest College, Dr. Cage lead a team which conducted the first homeopathic proving of the plant Larrea tridentata, or Chaparral. This research was published in the Spring 2004 issue of Simillimum, the Journal of the Homeopathic Academy of Naturopathic Physicians.

He opened the first Naturopathic clinic in the South Bay region of Los Angeles county in 2003, and also continued his exploration of alternative healing systems through the study of Oriental Medicine at the prestigious Samra University of Oriental Medicine in Los Angeles, the oldest college of Oriental Medicine in the U.S., graduating in 2005. Dr. Cage has taught undergraduate physics, as well as a biophysics course specifically for schools of Oriental Medicine, and has co-authored a textbook, Wu Li: Principles of Physics for Oriental Medicine. He is currently a contributing author to the Foundations Project, a collaborative, international effort to produce a new textbook on Naturopathic Philosophy, which is a synthesis of the traditions of Naturopathic Medicine and the advances of modern science. Dr. Cage's chapter is on the Physics of the Vital Force.

Dr. Cage has post-doctoral certifications in the treatment of Wilson's Temperature Syndrome, and Esoteric Acupuncture. He is a professional member of the American Holistic Health Association, the Price-Pottenger Nutrition Foundation, the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, the Oncology Association of Naturopathic Physicians, as well as the California Naturopathic Doctors Association.

When he isn't helping his patients, Dr. Cage's hobbies and interests include the martial arts, high-altitude mountaineering, and organic gardening. . He is the formulator of his own line of herbal and nutritional supplements, Dr. Cage's Herbal Remedies.
